If you’re looking for a classic, romantic wedding venue, check out our favorite and most romantic wedding venues in Minneapolis and St Paul! These five are just a place to start looking, but we’re sure you’ll agree why these are on our “must look” venue list! An old theater turned warehouse turned event venue – The Aria is a large and open space, yet it’s beauty will inspire romance for nearly any couple. Want to spend your day in a mansion (that feels like something out of a Disney fairy tale) with endless natural light and elegant rooms galore? Bavaria Downs is a must see. Always elegant, The Beach Club is truly a Minneapolis classic with large windows and a balcony terrace overlooking Bde Maka Ska Lake. The light and airy feel gives every wedding a timeless experience. There are many mansions to choose from in Minneapolis, but for us, The Van Dusen Mansion always takes the cake. More like a castle in the city, there are endless places to take amazing photos without ever leaving the property. And even though it is technically not in the immediate MSP area, Villa Bellezza will transport you and your guests straight to Italy – an experience you won’t soon forget.

Every time we get an inquiry for any of these gorgeous, romantic wedding venues, my heart just leaps – to go back and photograph these favorites time and time again NEVER gets old. One of the main reasons these 5 are on our Most Romantic Venues list is because of the truly endless options for backdrops and locations for pictures.

Meet: The Venues
Because they are all so equally amazing and distinct, I couldn’t bring myself to “rank them” so here they are in alphabetical order. Certainly there are other wonderfully romantic venues in the MSP area – but for us, these will always hold special places in our hearts!
The Aria
The lighting at The Aria creates an ambiance like no other. At first glance it may feel like a big empty box, but the intimacy of the space never ceases to amaze me! With highly-photogenic nooks and crannies everywhere, you’ll fall in love with the character that can be found here!
Bavaria Downs
Go back in time – or at least to another land! Straight out of a Disney storybook, Bavaria Downs is SURE to please any classic bride. Fun Fact: We photographed the FIRST wedding ever at Bavaria Downs! We look forward with anticipation to the next wedding we do there!
The Beach Club
Previously known as the Calhoun Beach Club, this classic wedding venue was built in the early 1900s and has been a favorite of Minneapolis brides for generations. That just shows how truly timeless this open, light-filled venue is!
Van Dusen Mansion
“Mansion” hardly gives this venue the right feel – CASTLE is more like it! It’s hard to pick a first place favorite, but Van Dusen always comes out near the top! If it rains, sleets or snows on your big day, no worries here as the VDM has you covered with endless places for elegant photos!
Meet: The Outlier
All of the above venues are in the greater Minneapolis/St Paul area – BUT we would have been remised to not include Villa Bellezza in our Most Romantic Venues in Minneapolis and St Paul. VB’s ability to transport you to another place is unreal.
The biggest hurdle you’ll face in planning your Villa Bellezza wedding is that lodging takes an extra step to get your guests to the nearest hotel – but let me be the first to say – it isn’t really that big of a hurdle and it’s more than worth the drive!
Villa Bellezza
We first photographed Dan and Sarah’s wedding when Villa Bellezza was brand new – it is SO exciting to see how they’ve expanded and grown (quite literally – the vineyards are amazing!) This Italian getaway will give you and your guests a taste of “la dolce vita”

The Aria

Bavaria Downs
When we first got an email about Philip and Trammy’s Bavaria Downs wedding we were SO excited. We knew this venue was going to be a dream to photograph – and it sure was! It was truly a pleasure to be the first wedding at BD – and Philip and Trammy were such a fun couple to work with!
The Beach Club
The classic elegance of The Beach Club is the perfect combination of light, airy, romantic, classic and timeless. The huge windows and white walls allow for any color theme and decor, yet hardly need anything extravagent to look amazing. We always love photographing weddings at The Beach Club!
Van Dusen Mansion
The Van Dusen Mansion… It’s hard to know where to begin in singing it’s praises! This venue never ceases to amaze me with how inspired we feel everytime we photograph a wedding there. It was hard to narrow it down… so here’s only 55 of my faves from this dreamy castle-like mansion!
Villa Bellezza
It was love at first wedding when we stepped on site to photograph Sarah and Dan’s Villa Bellezza wedding. Now after travelling to Italy in 2019, I’m even more in love with this slice of Italy countryside heaven, just about 1.5 hrs south of the Metro.
