Our last January wedding was with Matt and Sarah on a surprisingly warm and sunny saturday afternoon. They were married in a classic small white church in Plymouth and had their reception at the awesome Carlson rotunda.  Matt and Sarah didn’t want to see each other before the ceremony…. and the church really was only an open basement and the sanctuary.  So Sarah and the girls ended up hiding behind some dividers for the last half hour leading up to the ceremony. It was pretty funny.

The Carlson rotunda is normally part of an office complex, but it was just amazing when set up for the wedding.  The natural light from all the skylights made the marble and decorations look so elegant and clean… As the sunlight faded the  decorative lighting helped set the mood for an intimate dance.

The weather wasn’t too cold so we could have done more outdoor wedding photos, but the church and the reception sight were both full of great opportunities for creating fun wedding portraits.  Later on during the dance we did sneak outside with Matt and Sarah to capture some photos under the full moon and decorated trees.  I think the photos from their dance are some of my favorites that we’ve taken.

We had a great time getting to getting to know Matt and Sarah better! January was a very busy month for weddings, but now heading into the off season for wedding photographers we’ll have some time to reflect and let this amazing year settle in.
