Shawn and Bridget’s Wedding at the Carlson Center Rotunda

We certainly won’t forget Bridget and Shawn’s wedding day… It was quite dramatic – and I’m not talking about the bride – it was the WEATHER!!!

Shawn and Bridget found us through Jamie and Davida – yeay friends!!! : ) We had such a blast with those two last fall at their wedding – so I just knew that friends of theirs would be cool and awesome – which, Bridget and Shawn are!!

Anyways – the day started out with a mix of rain and sun – well – mostly rain! Once the church cleared out we were able to get in and get the girls dressed and ready for pictures. We had a wonderful assistant – Kelly – with us that day, so it sure was fun to get THREE angles on the first meeting pictures! {I guess it would have been cool to say that Dan and I are like ninjas and stealth-ily got from side to front to back like that…. But, not so much – ninja life for another day I guess!} ; )

We had fun with their family/bridal party taking lots of shots before the ceremony – and then we witnessed a beautiful ceremony filled with such nice words about both Shawn and Bridget : )

Afterwards the had a nice big receiving line and then we took some shots just outside of the church – YEAY SUN! I am glad we got those in there – a little bit of shade, a little bit of sun – a whole lot of fun! Okay, maybe a bad rhyme but that’s what you get when Caribou puts an extra shot of espresso in my drink without my asking! ; )

Anyways – the most exhilarating part of the day came after we waited out the rain at Lake Minnetonka {downtown Wayzata area} took photos and right as we were wrapping up our time there, the huge cloud that just passed over us started to turn/twist/spin and the tornado sirens went off!! The sky was just nuts! {Look at the photos on the bridge with that mansion behind them – that’s the dark cloud that started to go crazy!} So all the girls ran inside while the boys gawked, mouths to the ground at the soon to be funnel cloud.

After it passed we headed off to the Rotunda at Carlson Towers for their beautiful reception – we had SUCH a blast there! We always love being at Carlson Towers – such a great place! {oh, and the shot of the place from the balcony with the crazy colors/sky out the windows/in the background – not photoshoped at all! That’s what it was like that day!}

Bridget and Shawn – thanks for letting us be part of your day! As you said Bridget – the events that day {weather in all it’s craziness!} made an unforgettable day even more unforgettable : )
