We met Derek and Emily this past July and were totally smitten by their whirl-win love story. These two are so in love and it was evident in their engagement pictures.
We had a blast with them this past fall at Minnehaha Park! We started out their day at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. This is such a beautiful church with beautiful surroundings and we were blessed to photograph a phenomenal wedding there! It was also fun to see the rustic inside decorated so nicely for the Christmas season : ) Lucky for Emily – they had blue lights on the big evergreen trees – which happens to be the same colors she chose for her bridesmaid dresses!!
Their wedding day was very much a ‘small world’ day for me when I realized that I went to high school with Derek’s best man {and his college roommate!} Brad’s whole family was there too – so it was fun to to see the whole Watts family again! We had such a great time at their reception – not only did they have wonderful speeches but amazing dancers : ) Make sure you check out the series of three pictures of the single ladies dance – amazing! : )
We also enjoyed some great speeches that really gave you a glimpse into the truly genuine people that Derek and Emily are. Every person that spoke about them couldn’t help but sing praises about their kindness, love for other, God and also some humor in between : )
