Our last November wedding was with Ray and Brittany at the Holy Name of Jesus Church in Plymouth, MN. The weather was spectacular, and we were actually able to do a fair amount of outdoor photos before the ceremony as well as after. I think I mention the weather quite a bit when I talk about our weddings because I notice it so much when we are shooting weddings. I think it’s because the weather can really have a huge impact on moods, as well as the lighting!
One method that I really have a lot of fun with is to recreate shots and poses from the past. In this case, we recreated a photo of Brittany’s parents on the steps of the very same church, and later in the day the moment that Brittany stepped on Ray’s foot inside the church, which lead to their very first conversation.
They rented this beautiful old Cadillac, which we had a ton of fun using – photographing them inside and all around the car. After the ceremony, the sun was setting, so most of the shots were photographed in the dark. This presented a challenge for us, but I really do love how they turned out!
