We met Mike and Katrina through church – the same one they happened to get married at! We had a good time meeting with them – we knew their day would be a blast!
It started out at the Gale Mansion {BEAUTIFUL!} where – unfortunately for her – she was a tad late for – poor Katrina! She was at the house she and Mike just bought showing some people quick – and unfortunately, they were so excited – it was hard to get them out the door!
Either way – she got to the Gale Mansion and she was stunning : ) While Katrina got ready the guys had a blast taking pictures with Dan outside : ) I really enjoyed snapping some photos of just Katrina in the getting ready room.
Then we were off to the church for the ceremony. One thing I love about weddings at Hope Community Church is how traditionally beautiful the structure is, the brides can come down the side stairs and the stain glass is amazing!
Their ceremony was beautiful and when it was done Pastor Steve had everyone stand, turn and let Dan take a picture of everyone! How fun!! Where else can you do that? ; )
Family pictures went wonderfully and we got to take some great photos outside as well.
The Gale Mansion is a wonderful place for photos – so many fun nooks and crannies! The upstairs of the Mansion had really cool rooms that they used for various forms of entertainment – like the history room that contained pictures from past family members weddings AND their dresses!! {HOW COOL!!!}
We had so much fun Mike and Katrina! Thank you for letting us be part of your day!
And a quick shout out to Kelly Anderson – as always – it was fun to have you along!!
When I first got to chat with Emily, it was fun to hear her excitement in her ideas for pictures. We started at Theodore Wirth Park walking around the Eloise Butler Flower Garden and then we headed back to the studio. Thanks Emily for sharing your senior portrait experience with us!
Here are a few of our favorites!
It all started in a coffee shop while she was studying abroad…..
Jessica and Hamid were actually married about a year and a half ago in Morocco – but this was their ceremony and reception here!! You all remember the day of the big storm? We were right in the middle of it! We had a wonderful time – it was such a blessing meeting her amazing family!
We were really looking forward to Jessica and Hamid’s big day because it was originally going to take place last summer! However, the kind of Visa that Hamid needed wasn’t going to clear in time – so this one was a long time in the making!
Since they are already married, they had a beautifully simple wedding in her grandparents backyard {who’s house because our solace while waiting for the rain to pass – 35 minutes later!} but it went wonderfully. Her sister Emily ran the ceremony – which made for a very nice personal touch : )
One of my favorites from the day was hearing Dan’s stories from the kiddos catching the chipmunk before the wedding : )
Thank you Jessica and Hamid for letting us be part of your day!
{Karin here!}
I could begin in kindergarten when Andrea and I met – but instead, I’d love to indulge you with when they met…..
Summer – August – 2003. Josh was a police reserve protecting the newly crowned Goodview Royalty court that Andrea was on. He was the knight – she was the princess : )
Nearly 7 years later – they are king and queen of their white castle with a barn, silo and chicken coop on 5 acres – and happier they’ve ever been : )
I was SO honored to be part of Andrea and Joshua’s wedding day – it is the first wedding I have ever been in {minus ours!} and it was SO fun!!! {kind of weird being on the other end!}
We started off the weekend’s events by making our own bouquets on Friday, followed by the reception and a lovely dinner at Cedar Valley Golf Course.
The next morning kicked off with doing our hair and eating fresh Bloedows donuts…. amazing! Then off to the church for dressing and pictures : )
I’ve known Andrea for 2ish decades now, and Josh for 7ish years and I have never see either of them any happier. Andrea looked amazing, her dress – FABULOUS!
Andrea – you have been such an amazing friend for so many years and it has been so much fun seeing you grow into the fabulous woman you are today.
Josh – never forget how amazing this girl is. Period.
To you both – keep God your center, kiss each other everyday and always – ALWAYS – have at LEAST 2 dogs : )
Love you both,
~K : )
