How you got started with your Etsy store/craft of trade?

I still remember how wonderful it was to get all my wedding accessories custom handmade and how important details are for a “dream wedding”; therefore, I would also like to be able to help other brides to create the perfect wedding accessories in the same way I did mine.
I began to design and create handmade hair adornments for brides at Design by Pris on Etsy since February 2010. My studio is a home-based where I usually work on my free time that I have from taking care of my two young children.

Your favorite thing about weddings?
My favorite thing about a wedding is to see a happy moment of two people who want share “one love” forever, to see a beautiful bride and a fine looking groom, to see a smile on their faces, to see their hard work of find all their dream wedding elements come in place to create their wonderful day to remember for a life time.

Pris has offered to giveaway a beautiful veil – perfect as a wedding day veil, groom’s dinner/rehearsal veil, girl’s bachelorette night on the town and more!

A Proposal Story – Adam and Jewels – Engaged!

Dan and I got to photograph an actual proposal!!

The basic jist was that I was a photographer working for the W Hotel {where it happened} and I was walking around photographing people hanging out {which I actually did photograph a few couples and a group who were THRILLED to be in on the secret!!!}

Then, once I saw Adam give “the signal” I moved in, said my fake lines about what I was doing and had them pose with the presents.

After-which I looked at my cell phone and said, “You know, you’re actually the last couple I am photographing tonight, why don’t you go ahead and open them – there are some chocolates inside – compliments of the W Hotel”

So – they proceeded to open and Jewels got to the goods : )

She was rather shocked : )

It was SUCH a magical night – when we got home I was just bouncing around the house and could hardly contain myself!!! {And it wasn’t even my engagement!}

Thank you thank you thank you Adam and Jewels for letting us be part of your special night – it brought us SO much joy!!!

{When I got home, I was rather inspired and wrote this……}

To Adam and Jewels – by Karin

‘Twas the night before Thursday; and all through the world
Not a creature was expecting; not even the girl

The ring was wrapped up in a box with great care
In hopes that soon, Ms Jewels it would wear

Two couples were nestled; watching snug from their chairs
While visions of young love in their minds did flare

With she in her dress and he in his tweed
Had just settled down for a nice, romantic read,

When around from the fire there came some chatter
They sprang at the chance to hear what’s the matter

Then away went the camera it clicked and it flashed
As she tore open the presents and threw off the sash

With the fire on her cheeks and a new fallen glow
Gave luster to the shiny bright object below

Then to what her wandering eyes did appear
But a fabulous, sparkling ring, oh my dear!

With a few little words so loving and quick
She knew at that moment that this love would stick

More rapid than eagles their hearts, did they beat
And folks watching did whistle and stand to their feet

So up to the sky their emotions, they flew
With hearts full of joy and wedding bells too

And then, in a twinkling, I heard from the chair
A sweet gentle “Yes” with lots of great care

She was hardly on earth with her feet on the ground
And up from his knee he went with a bound

He was dressed in a suit from his head to his foot
On her dainty finger the ring he did put

A bundle of joy, they were, with a hug
Sitting there, quietly, he looked rather smug

His eyes how they twinkled – Her dimples so merry!
His cheeks were like roses – her nose like a cherry!

Her sweet little mouth, drawn up like a bow
And the tears down her cheek, oh did they go!

As pictures wound down and night came to a close
How happy it was for him to propose

The timing was right, what God said was clear
That forever will Adam hold Jewels so near

So – here they are – one of my favorite photoshoots ever!

How you got started with your Etsy store/craft of trade

I am a graphic designer who graduated from Cal State Fullerton couple years ago. After struggling trying to find a position during such a tough economy, I decided to start my own design studio business on Etsy. I have always felt passionate toward colors, patters, and nice textured paper. I wasn’t satisfied with freelancing just designing logos and websites – so that’s  when I decided to sell my own paper goods and design.  I really enjoy being able to pick the ink colors and printing paper. I have been creating new designs for almost one year and I love what I do.

Your favorite thing about weddings

My favorite thing about weddings is seeing all elements working together. There are endless things involved in planning a wedding; like the decorations, seating chart, place cards, menu, flowers, and much more. Oftentimes brides have to order their supplies from many different venders, which can be very stressful trying to have all of the elements match. Seeing the version in your mind finally comes to life and being presented in front of your family and friends is such a wonderful moment. That’s when you know all the hard work that you have put into the day are all worth it.

Tina has offered to giveaway 100 printed tiara black and white place cards and 10 matching black and white large folded table number cards. Not enough for your large wedding?  You can always order more!!  ; )

Comment below for your chance{s} to win these!!  Contest for the place settings ends at NOON on the 10th of January – winner announced that afternoon. Get your name in the mix!!  {Three times!}

Here is a peek at the place cards and table numbers up for grabs!
